The Bridges at Kendall Place Unveiled in Miami

By Jeffrey Steele, Contributing Writer

Miami—The Bridges at Kendall Place, a 228-unit, Class A apartment community in Miami, recently had its official opening on Thursday, Oct. 18. On that afternoon, a ribbon-cutting ceremony complete with property tours and refreshments was held at the community clubhouse to unveil the Jamestown-developed property.

Situated on more than 15 acres in the Kendall neighborhood of west Miami, the community provides one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury apartment homes that range in size from 635 to 1,435 square feet. The units feature granite countertops in kitchens and bathrooms, ceramic tile flooring, espresso wood cabinetry with upgraded hardware, stainless steel appliances and washers and dryers in every unit. Many apartments also include kitchen islands and lake views.

The Bridges at Kendall Place also offers a long list of common-area amenities, including a fitness center with kids’ room, clubhouse with billiards, business center and large Wi-Fi-equipped gathering and meeting spaces. A resort-style pool, sundeck with an outdoor TV and a waterside green space with a dog park, gazebo, picnic tables and walking trails complete the luxury amenity package. The community itself is set within a lush waterfront environment.

“While Jamestown had owned the site since 2007 and always believed in its potential for outstanding multifamily product development, the combination of early economic recovery and competitive construction pricing in 2011 made this the perfect time to launch the Bridges at Kendall Place,” Amy Swick, Jamestown senior vice president, development and construction, tells MHN. “Jamestown is proud to have contributed to the economic recovery through this significant investment, contribution to the tax base and creation of more than 400 jobs.”

The biggest hurdle the project confronted was its status as one of the first new apartment communities to start after the recession, Swick adds. “Jametown’s capital strength and the strong Kendall submarket overcame this first-mover challenge, however, and enabled the project to benefit from some of the best construction pricing of the past decade,” she reports. “This competitive pricing further enhanced the property’s value as significant upgrades to finishes and amenities were added.”

Pending is a sought-after Silver certification through the National Association of Homebuilders Green Standards for multifamily properties.

The property’s green features include water-efficient fixtures, high-performance windows, environmentally friendly interior finishes, efficient construction technologies and energy-efficient insulation and air conditioning.

Swick and her Jamestown colleagues believe The Bridges at Kendall Place redefines contemporary luxury living in Miami.

“With premium amenities, high-end finishes and an environmentally-friendly design, The Bridges at Kendall Place represents a new standard for exclusive apartment living in the area,” she says.
