Perkins Eastman and Small Brothers to Develop Luxury Mixed-Use Community
Charlotte, N.C.—Perkins Eastman and Small Brothers have begun construction on SKYE Condominiums in Charlotte, N.C. This is a 22-story mixed-use project that includes 67 condominiums, two penthouse suites and a 172-key Hyatt Place Hotel, as well as a restaurant and retail space. Phase I of this project, which includes the residential units, is expected be completed in the third quarter this year.
The SKYE units range from 800 to 3,500 square feet and include different floor plans. All units will feature a private terrace, as well as designer finishes and appliances.
Amenities will include controlled parking; bicycle storage; limited private storage; valet services such as a 24-hour concierge, laundry, garbage collection and room service. There will also be the SKYLE Lounge, which will be located on the 10th floor, which will be exclusive to condo owners. This will include a private fitness center, billiard/game room, theater room, demonstration kitchen and lounge area with a wet bar and Internet access.
“SKYE is the only residential condominium project of its kind in the Charlotte market,” Shane McDevitt, principal of real estate firm The McDevitt Agency, who represents the project developer, tells MHN. “Under one roof will be 67 luxury residential condominiums, a 172-room Hyatt Place Hotel, Charlotte’s only rooftop restaurant and ground floor retail. SKYE features true luxury living in Center City where residents will be able to enjoy 24-hour concierge services, valet parking, a rooftop pool with landscaping, access to the rooftop restaurant and SKYE bar. SKYE lounge for residents will include a club room, fitness center and theater room. Included in the rooftop design is approximately 7,800 square feet of open space walkways, green roof and seating areas.”
What really sets apart this condominium is the rooftop restaurant, which will be Charlotte’s first open-air rooftop restaurant. This will include 9,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor seating, private dining and a “sky” bar, which offers views of the city.
“It is exciting to see our vision progress on this unique project for the City of Charlotte,” Bud Balsom, vice president of business development for Small Brothers, says. “Luxury rental condominiums, a Hyatt Place Hotel, ground-floor retail space and a spectacular rooftop restaurant with unparalleled views of the Charlotte skyline—all under one roof—will be a destination location for residents and visitors to Center City.”Tags: Condominium sales, mixed-use, New Development
