Hendricks-Berkadia Adds VP Wade Schmitz to New Houston Office
Phoenix—Hendricks-Berkadia, the investment sales business unit of Berkadia Commercial Mortgage LLC (Berkadia), recently announced the hiring of Wade Schmitz as a vice president with the firm. Schmitz joins the newly opened Houston office, which will work alongside Berkadia’s existing Houston office to expand both apartment investment sales and mortgage banking services throughout the Houston metropolitan area.
Schmitz brings nearly 15 years of multifamily brokerage experience in the Houston market, representing private entrepreneurs, institutional owners, syndicators and developers of multifamily properties. He has been involved in more than $800 million worth of assignments and multifamily sales that exceed $123,000 per unit.
Most recently, Schmitz served as a vice president for three-and-a-half years with Jones Lang LaSalle. He worked on the same team as Greg Austin and Chip Nash, who were recently hired by Hendricks-Berkadia as partners in the new Houston office. Prior to that, he spent four years as a vice president with Hendricks & Partners, the multifamily investment sales firm that was acquired by Berkadia in January 2013 to form Hendricks-Berkadia.
“I’m thrilled to be rejoining the Hendricks team and to bring their unique investment sales and research capabilities to existing and future clientele,” said Schmitz. “Additionally, I look forward to using all of the other services offered by Berkadia’s capital platform in order to help expand our footprint in the Houston market.”
Schmitz graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.Tags: Berkadia Commercial Mortgage, executive transitions, Hendricks-Berkadia, Wade Schmitz
