Washington, D.C. – Nominations for the Washington, D.C.-based National Multi Housing Council’s (NMHC) Good Neighbor Award for Outstanding Community Service, which honors the community service and philanthropic activities of apartment firms, are now being accepted. The winner will receive a $10,000 donation for the charity of choice.
“Apartment industry leaders understand better than most how important it is to be a good community partner,” says Doug Bibby, NMHC president. “We want to recognize these efforts and showcase good ideas that will inspire others.”
According to Bibby, last year’s winner, Mid-America Apartment Communities, has provided free apartments to more than 1,200 families who otherwise could not have afforded to be close to their hospitalized relatives. “Mid-America graciously offered to share their expertise with others who would like to establish a similar program,” Bibby adds.
