Washington, D.C.—CityVista, a new mixed-use community in Washington, D.C., is rising on Fifth and K streets. The project is helping to revitalize the Mount Vernon Triangle, located in the east end of the downtown area.
The complex is being developed by Lowe Enterprises, CIM Group, Neighborhood Development Corp., National Capital Revitalization Corp., and Torti Gallas and Partners. Construction on the project began in January 2006. It is expected to be completed in 2008.
CityVista will include two condo buildings with 441 units in total, and 120,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, convenience stores, a fitness center and parking. According to Michael Balaban, president of Lowe Enterprises Real Estate Group’s eastern division, all of this will be set in a pedestrian friendly environment around a one-acre private park called Vista Green. Retailers will include Starbucks, Bergmann’s Dry Cleaning, The Gym, 5th Street Hardware, and a new restaurant concept from the creators of Busboys and Poets.
The one- and two-bedroom condos will feature large windows and modern kitchens, and some will have dens. These units will range in size from 693 to 1,461 square feet, and in price from $285,000 to $804,000. Residents will have access to a rooftop terrace, offering expansive city views.
