Meet the 2014 MHN Excellence Awards Judges

New York—MHN was pleased to host the judging for the 2014 MHN Excellence Awards in July. The judges consisted of industry veterans from a range of sectors including asset management, development and interior design. Read more about them below.

LandisRobert C. Landis, SVP & Director of Asset Management, Raymond James Tax Credit Funds.

Industry veteran Robert “Bob” Landis heads up the asset management group at Raymond James Tax Credit Fund, which is a leading sponsor of Low Income Housing Tax Credit assets across the nation. He is thoroughly experienced in asset management and property operations for both market-rate and affordable assets.

Prior to Landis’ employment with Raymond James, he served as president of Atlanta-based Lane Management, after serving as vice president at Alliance Residential and United Dominion Realty Trust in Texas. His career began in Washington D.C. working for a local developer/maters before moving on to leading a national syndicator which specialized in affordable apartments, commercial and recreational properties and a mortgage REIT.

Landis received his B.A. from the University of Delaware and a Master of Urban and Environmental Planning, with emphasis on housing and community development, from the University of Virginia’s School of Architecture. He currently holds the National Association of Home Builders’ HCCP designation, is a Certified Property Manager through IREM (the Institute for Real Estate Management) and also serves on NAHB’s Board of Governors for the HCCP credential and is chairman of the board of directors of a local housing non-profit organization.

Pearlman_DorisDoris Pearlman, MIRM, IIDA, President of Possibilities for Design, Inc.

Doris Pearlman is the president of Denver-based Possibilities for Design—an interior design and merchandising firm founded in 1976 that specializes in market-driven interior space merchandising as well as the latest trend-setting designs. The company’s client list includes industry known builders and developers such as Ryland Homes, Toll Brothers, Shea Homes, Westfield Homes, Lennar Homes and many others.

Pearlman has been awarded the Institute of Residential Marketing’s (IRM) “Excellence in Education Award” for her demonstration of outstanding achievement in education, as well as the Excellence in Education Award from NAHB in 2000. She continues to lead lectures, workshops and seminars on a national scale and is a frequent author of pieces pertaining to topics in the field of interior design, merchandising and marketing.

Pearlman is a past and present member of the IRM Board of Trustees and has served as the organization’s Chairman of the Education Committee and Convention Education Committee, as well as a member of the Design Committee.

JeffreyResetcoCR5x7Jeffrey Resetco, Vice President of Development and Construction Services, EdR

Jeffrey Resetco currently serves as the vice president of development and Construction service at EdR, a publicly-traded REIT that specializes in the development, ownership and management of student housing. After joining EdR, Resetco oversaw the development and construction of 929, a graduate student housing project located at Johns Hopkins Medical institute, and the Oaks on the Square project located at Storrs Center at the University of Connecticut.

Resetco has an extensive background in high-rise multifamily and urban and mixed-used development. Prior to joining EdR, he worked for Peterson Companies where he was responsible for the management of all design and construction for the company’s office, multifamily and hospitality projects, which included a major role in the development and construction of National Harbor—a mixed-use waterfront development in Washington. Before that, Resetco was a senior associate at Gruzen Samton Architects where he managed high-level education and multifamily projects. He earned his master’s in architecture from North Carolina State University after receiving his B.S. in architecture from the University of Maryland.

N_CetraRuddy-241Nancy J. Ruddy, Founding Principal, CetraRuddy

Ruddy currently serves at the managing principal and executive director of interior design at New York-based CetraRuddy, which she co-founded in 1987. In her time with the company, Ruddy has helped to direct program development and strategic planning for more than 20 million square feet of architectural and interior design work, while leading a team of skilled professionals to produce highly original, custom solutions for clients in the residential, commercial, cultural and educational sectors.

Ruddy’s expertise lies in program analysis and implementation that provides her clients with a methodology that incorporates the design consultant directly into the client’s strategic planning team. Her additional fortes include project management, construction costing and the integration of client goals within project constraints. Her most notable projects include One Madison, Walker Tower, Barbizon 63, the Galleria Hotel in Saudi Arabia and Lincoln Square Synagogue. Ruddy received her B.A. in Architectural History from NYU and studied Architecture at City College of New York.  Other honors include “100 Women Leaders for the 21st Century” by Real Estate Weekly and the Association of Real Estate Women, “Business Owner of the Year” from the National Association of Women Business Owners, and the Career Achievement Award from the School of Architecture of the City College of New York.
